Throat surgery will be undergone by country music star Keith Urban after a growth was found on his vocal cords.
Due to his recovery process, several scheduled performances have been postponed.
His spokesman mentioned that the out-patient procedure is set to occur later this month. The recovery process necessitates complete vocal rest for the singer while he recuperates.
Married to actress Nicole Kidman, the New Zealand born singer will complete his one-song performance commitments before the surgery and plans to reschedule all other performances for the new year.
The All For The Hall concert, aimed at benefiting the Country Music Hall of Fame and originally scheduled for January, has been postponed.
Additionally, he is up for entertainer and male vocalist awards at the upcoming Academy of Country Music Awards later this month.
It is uncertain if he will be in good health to attend.
A statement available on Keith’s website states: ‘The surgery, while a minor out-patient procedure, will necessitate complete voice rest along with an unspecified recuperation period, thus requiring the rescheduling of the ‘All For The Hall’ benefit concert.
‘Although Urban has had to significantly reduce his performances involving multiple songs, he will fulfill his existing one-song commitments leading up to the procedure at the end of this month.
‘All other engagements will be rescheduled for the new year.’
