Keith Richards often depises Mick Jagger

Keith Richards and Mick Jagger have discussed their collaborative dynamic, indicating that it’s akin to being a blend of brothers and a married couple.

In a recent interview, Richards admits to often “despising” his bandmate from The Rolling Stones, but asserts that his love for him is akin to that of family.

Richards states: “You’ve got two very volatile guys who’ve experienced so much in their lives and still manage to collaborate. At times I despise the man, yet at other moments, my love for him is immense. It’s similar to the bond between brothers. I never had one, so he fulfills that role for me. That’s simply how it is, bless his heart.”

On the other hand, Mick Jagger appears less enthusiastic about the concept of being ‘married’ to Richards, commenting: “People can make the silliest statements, and that one is among the most absurd, as working with someone is entirely different from marriage. I work with Keith, and he’s been in my life for quite some time.”

Further along in the interview, Richards expresses the significance of the band to him, likening The Rolling Stones to fundamental necessities like air and sustenance. “What truly exists in life? There’s the air you breathe and the food you consume… and then there’s The Rolling Stones. They’ve been a constant presence, for them, from their perspective. The world wouldn’t feel whole without The Rolling Stones!”

The Rolling Stones performed the second of their two shows in London last week, with both Eric Clapton and Florence Welch making guest appearances on stage at the O2 Arena.
