Jack Johnson to tour Australia

Jack Johnson, the singer-songwriter-surfer who despises shoes, is embarking on a world tour this month, featuring performances in Europe and the USA, before making his way to Australia come December.

Jack Johnson

This tour is in promotion of his upcoming album, From Here To Now To You, set to debut on Friday, September 13, under his own Brushfire Records label.

For his sixth studio album, Johnson has collaborated once more with Mario Caldato Jr., who was the producer behind his third and most successful record, In Between Dreams. This album also welcomes back Ben Harper, who lends both his slide guitar skills and guest vocals to a track titled ‘Change.’ The first glimpse we got of the album was through the single ‘I Got You,’ which dropped earlier this year. If you anticipated acoustic guitar paired with subtly humorous lyrics, you were absolutely correct. Be sure to watch the video located beneath the tour dates.

None of the concert dates for the From Here To Now To You tour in Australia will occur in conventional music venues. The shows in Sydney and Perth will take place outdoors; specifically, the Sydney performance will be on the steps of the Opera House, while the Perth show will be held at Kings Park. The events in Melbourne and Brisbane will be staged at the Plenary Theatre and the QPAC Concert Hall, respectively. Continuing his tradition since 2008, Johnson will donate the profits from these concerts to charitable causes.

Tickets will be available for purchase starting at 9 AM on Tuesday, September 17.
