Did Beckham make The Stone Roses reunion happen?

According to tabloid reports, David Beckham, the former England captain and Manchester United midfielder, played a significant role in facilitating the reunion of The Stone Roses.

The football star is reportedly a big fan of The Stone Roses and has made several attempts to convince bassist Mani and frontman Ian Brown to come together for a reunion.

An unnamed source revealed, “David has always been a massive fan of The Stone Roses. It’s important to note that he was a young boy in Manchester when The Roses were at the height of their fame. You couldn’t grow up there without being a fan of the band. Ian and Mani are true Reds, so they were familiar with each other back in the day.”

They added, “When David learned there might be a chance for Ian and guitarist John Squire to reconcile, he stepped in. He told Mani clearly that he needed to bring the band back together. He even offered to call the boys himself and plead with them to get it done.”

They continued further: “When he ran into Ian at Old Trafford a month later, he really pushed the idea hard, expressing that he would do anything to help make it a reality. David was among the first to be informed when the band decided to reconvene for rehearsals.”

The Manchester band reformed last month and announced their homecoming performances at Heaton Park scheduled for June 29, 30, and July 1, 2012, with strong speculation regarding festival appearances and a world arena tour to follow shortly after.
