Indeed, that’s correct… you can now experience ‘Sir Elton John’s Cock’, thanks to Blur.
The song ‘Sir Elton John’s Cock’ by Blur has been included in the Blur box set titled ‘Blur 21: The Box’.
Originally composed during the Think Tank sessions, the track went unreleased until now.
Little information is available about the song. It was recorded early in the Think Tank sessions but was believed to have been erased.
This release commemorates 21 years since Blur launched their debut album ‘Leisure’ in 1991.
EMI Records indicates that notable features of the box set include early takes of tracks meant for Leisure, raw early demos of classic singles such as ‘For Tomorrow’ and ‘Beetlebum’, along with previously unheard songs ‘Saturday Morning’ and ‘Hope You Find Your Suburbs’. Additionally, it contains unissued sessions with Bill Laswell and a legendary session alongside XTC’s Andy Partridge. Other rare tracks appearing on CD for the first time include ‘Don’t Bomb When You’re The Bomb’, ‘The Wassailling Song’, and ‘Fools Day’. DVD content features Live at Alexandra Palace 1994 and Live at Wembley ‘The Singles Night’ 1999.
‘Beyond the 21-disc Deluxe Box Set, all seven studio albums will be sold separately, each complemented by a second disc containing b-sides, hard-to-find tracks, and exclusive additional material.’
‘A vinyl box set will also be offered, featuring six of the seven albums on double-vinyl, showcasing iconic artwork and visuals from Banksy, David Shrigley, and Graham Coxon among others. This vinyl set will come with a download code for digital access to all bonus material. Each of the seven LPs will likewise be available for purchase individually on heavyweight vinyl.’
‘Blur 21: The Box’ was made available on July 30, 2012.
