The announcement from Beyonce reveals that she is expecting her first child in February 2012.
Confirmation of the due date came from Australia’s Channel 7 Sunday Night show during an interview with the American singer.
This child will be the first for 29-year-old Beyonce and her husband Jay-Z, who is 41 years old and has been married for three years.
She shared the exciting news at the MTV VMA awards in Los Angeles in August, where it set a record on Twitter with fans’ reactions.
On the microblogging platform, users generated 8,868 tweets per second when the singer showcased her baby bump following her performance at the event.
Previously, the record was held at 7,196 tweets per second after Japan’s victory over the US in the women’s World Cup final last July.
“It’s crazy, I don’t even Tweet,” she remarked during the interview.
Regarding her pregnancy, she expressed: “It already has changed my life. My husband and I have been together for 10 years. I feel like it’s time.”
