After being reportedly attacked by five individuals in a hotel bar last week, Avril Lavigne has claimed that her “face is fucked”.
The Canadian singer disclosed that the attack was unprovoked and stemmed from an altercation with another woman at the Roosevelt Hotel in Hollywood.
At the time, Lavigne was accompanied by her boyfriend, reality TV star Brody Jenner. She reported sustaining a black eye, a bloody nose, and various other injuries as a result of the fight.
Taking to her official Twitter, Lavigne insisted she did not initiate the conflict, stating, “I don’t fight. I don’t believe in it. To clear things up I got attacked by 5 people last night out of nowhere. Not cool. My face is fucked.” Furthermore, she provided more detail about her injuries, mentioning, “As in black eye, bloody nose, hair ripped out, scratches, bruises and cuts. So not ok to be abusive to others. Violence is NEVER the answer.”
This incident marks not the first time this year that Lavigne has been a victim of violence. In August, she was assaulted onstage in Brazil when a female fan rushed onto the stage in an attempt to grab or perhaps hug the singer.
Additionally, in September, a man received a conviction for second-degree murder after he stabbed his mother nine times over a dispute regarding Avril Lavigne tickets.
Earlier this year, Lavigne released her fourth studio album, ‘Goodbye Lullaby’, which followed her 2007 LP The Best Damn Thing.
