Ronnie Wood, the guitarist for The Rolling Stones, mentioned that the iconic band might perform additional shows following their upcoming concerts in London and New York next month.
While on the red carpet at the premiere of the new Stones documentary ‘Crossfire Hurricane’, Wood remarked, “once this wheel is turning I don’t think it will be able to stop…We won’t be able to stop,” according to reports.
Wood’s comments come after singer Mick Jagger indicated that the 50th anniversary performances may not be their final ones. When asked about the possibility of the band visiting Australia, Jagger responded, “Not this week! We’re going to go and rehearse this week but I hope to go to Australia. I haven’t been there in years.”
Regarding the preparations for the upcoming shows in London and New Jersey, Jagger stated, “Rehearsals are going really well. We’ve done loads of songs, we’re playing well and everyone’s sounding good.”
The documentary ‘Crossfire Hurricane’ chronicles the band’s ascent through an extensive array of archive footage. Jagger commented on the band’s continued success, saying, “Well, it helps to be alive! We’re still working and putting out records and all that sort of thing.” When asked if he recalls the earlier days more clearly than recent experiences, Jagger smiled and said, “I remember everything, darling.”
To celebrate the Stones’ 50th anniversary, the frontman will perform with his bandmates for two nights at London’s O2 Arena on November 25 and 29. Following that, they will play two nights at the Prudential Center in Newark, New Jersey, on December 13 and 15.
