Another musical tosser jumps on Obama band-wagon

In the aftermath of Barack Obama’s victory in the US election, Bob Dylan has made his first Facebook status update.

All I can express is, ‘kudos to Bob’. It appears that the most favorable media attention for any pop/rock artist, actor, etc., is to show support for your local President.

You know, during President Obama’s inauguration ceremony, I anticipated it…wait for it…there he is…Bono. It seems that the older he becomes, the more ridiculous he makes himself.

Bono, stick to what you know…perform some songs, engage with a few groupies, release an album, and the like…but steer clear of politics. If your goal is to help people, support causes, assist Presidents…then contribute a significant amount of your wealth. Because you have certainly accumulated a lot over the years. Jesus Christ, if I had your fortune, I would pay you a million just to keep quiet about political matters.

With over 4 million “likes” on his official Facebook page, Dylan shared a status update just before the confirmation of Obama’s second term. The status read, “Here’s pretty close to what I said last night in Madison. I mentioned from the stage that we had to perform better than good tonight, as the president was present and he’s a tough act to follow. Additionally, we aren’t deceived by the media and we believe it’s going to be a landslide. That sums it up.”

At a concert in the pivotal state of Wisconsin on Monday night, Dylan forecasted a landslide. While in Madison, where Barack Obama held a morning rally on the same day, Dylan said to the audience: “We aimed to perform well tonight since the president was here today…Don’t trust the media. I believe it’s going to be a landslide.”

As previously mentioned, congratulations, Bob, you are indeed quite an overhyped artist and rather disappointing as well. Now, you find yourself in the same unpleasant category as Bono…well done, Bob.
