A recent beauty poll indicates that leg shaving ranks as the most disliked beauty chore, with 35 percent of women expressing a strong aversion to depilation above all other tasks in their beauty routines.
Despite our disdain for it, we certainly dedicate ample time to this task. The study found that over the course of their lives, women devote 59 days—nearly two months—to this particularly unwelcome activity.
A significant number of women surveyed recognized the necessity of removing leg hair, averaging four minutes spent on this ritual six times each week, resulting in a cumulative 21 hours annually.
The next most unpopular beauty task identified in the study was hairstyling, with 17 percent of participants stating their dislike for it. However, they still spend 16 minutes each day on their hair, which adds up to almost a year in a lifetime (294 days).
Eyebrow plucking ranked as the third most despised beauty chore, consuming about 11 hours a year.
In fourth place is the removal of make-up, which six percent of women dislike so intensely that they choose to skip it entirely.
While a majority of women (68 percent) reluctantly remove make-up every day, two-fifths do so only twice a week at most.
