A scientist from France has determined that bras are ineffective after dedicating 16 years to studying hundreds of women’s breasts.
This week, Jean-Denis Rouillon revealed his unexpected findings after meticulously examining the breasts of over 300 women aged 18 to 35 since 1997.
He contends that wearing a bra diminishes the natural muscles that support breasts, indicating that women might experience greater freedom without one.
His results have sparked intense discussions across the English Channel in a nation renowned for its fondness for lingerie.
‘Breathing improves, posture enhances, and back pain decreases,’ noted one participant of 28 years.
Dr. Rouillon asserts that wearing a bra from a young age offers minimal benefits, and going without may enhance firmness.
‘The suspension system of the breasts deteriorates,’ he explained.
Although his investigation lasted over 16 years, the sports doctor acknowledges that his findings are only initial, suggesting that more research may be necessary.
Nonetheless, he conceded that bras might provide advantages for older women.
‘For a middle-aged woman, overweight, with 2.4 children? I’m not entirely convinced she would benefit from giving up bras,’ he remarked.
