Wearing red is guaranteed to pull chicks

To attract women’s attention, men should opt for red attire, as recent studies indicate that this colour enhances their appeal to the opposite sex.

According to research published in the Journal of Experimental Psychology, women from the United States, England, Germany, and China reported that men dressed in red or depicted against a red background appeared more sexually attractive than those in other hues.

Andrew Elliot, a psychologist from the University of Rochester and one of the study’s authors, noted that red has traditionally been viewed as a sexy colour exclusively for women.

“Our findings imply that the connection between the colour red and sexual attraction extends to men as well,” Dr. Elliot stated.

“For women, the impact of the colour was significant.”

Despite varying cultural perceptions of red, the attraction of women to men dressed in this colour remained consistent across all the countries studied.

The research included seven experiments, with some divided into two phases, involving groups of participants aged between 19 and 22, numbering from 20 to 57 individuals.

Women were involved in all the experiments, while men served as a control group in one of them.

Additionally, women related the colour red with higher status, a pattern that Dr. Elliot likened to behavior observed in other primates.

“In chimpanzees, the top-ranking males exhibit an intense reddening of their skin during dominance contests,” he elaborated.

“This serves as a clear status signal. Females observe this and deliberately seek to mate with the highest-ranking available male.”

The researchers proposed that for men, donning this hue might instigate changes in their behavior, with something as straightforward as wearing a red tie potentially enhancing their confidence during business presentations.
