If you are an ageing action star, life can be tough.
This reality is illustrated by seasoned actors Arnold Schwarzenegger and Sylvester Stallone, who were spotted post-treatment for stunt-related injuries in the hospital ‘coincidentally.’
Just hours after the announcement of their co-starring role in a new film titled The Tomb, former California Governor Schwarzenegger shared a photo on his Whosay account.
‘Now we’re set for another round of fun and action when we start filming The Tomb.’
As Schwarzernegger turns 64 and Stallone reaches 65, many might speculate if the duo ought to pass the action genre to younger talent more fit for its physical demands.
Nonetheless, some sceptics might question the timing of this coincidence, especially considering both have films to market.
The presence of a syringe seemingly lodged in Stallone’s neck also hinted that this could be a spoof.
In the 80s, Arnold and Sly were fierce competitors, constantly vying for the title of Hollywood’s top action star.
Despite the immense profitability of the Rambo and Rocky franchises, Arnold appeared to have the upper hand with massive hits like Terminator 2, Total Recall, and Kindergarten Cop.
Today, however, these two stars appear to be more like close friends and will collaborate for the third time in the recent film The Tomb.
Arnold had a brief role in 2010’s The Expendables and is expected to have a significant role in the upcoming sequel.
In this latest collaboration, Stallone portrays a man who designs a high-tech prison that’s inescapable but finds himself trapped after being betrayed.
Fortunately, he will receive assistance from a friendly inmate played by Schwarzenegger to aid in his escape.
The Austrian Oak is currently wrapping up filming for The Last Stand, marking his first venture into the serious western genre.
