Mick Fleetwood of Fleetwood Mac has successfully initiated a legal separation from his third wife, Lynn.
After 18 years of marriage, the highly overrated drummer informed his partner that she should pursue her own path.
I only wish he had departed from the band and carved out his own journey long ago. Fleetwood Mac is an incredibly talented group that has crafted some remarkable songs, yet Mick Fleetwood, to be honest… is a rather subpar drummer who benefits from the talents of the rest of the ensemble.
Despite the band’s shared name selling 100 million albums, Mick is seeking spousal support from the woman he wed in 1995.
Nevertheless, he is asserting that all of his premarital music royalties and memorabilia belong solely to him.
The Cornwall-born pseudo-rocker (just because Mick Fleetwood existed during the peak of rock music and indulged in numerous substances doesn’t necessarily qualify him as a rocker) is also pursuing joint legal custody of their 11-year-old twin daughters, although he wishes for his wife to maintain primary physical custody.
At 65, he is citing irreconcilable differences but has yet to file for divorce.
His band recently kicked off a 34-city tour across the US and Canada, which will conclude in Detroit on June 12.
This occurs just weeks ahead of the Glastonbury Festival, with rumors circulating that the legendary rockers could join the lineup as a significant addition.
Singer Stevie Nicks has publicly refuted claims that this would be the multi-platinum band’s final tour.
She commented: ‘It’s never going to be a final tour until we drop dead.
‘As long as everyone maintains good health and takes care of themselves, there’s no reason for this to come to an end.’
The tour will coincide with the 35th anniversary of their iconic album Rumours, which boasted four hit singles and achieved over 40 million in global sales.
