It has been confirmed that Whitney Houston’s family will star in their own reality TV show.
The programme, which will take a fly-on-the-wall approach, is called The Houston Family Chronicles and will showcase the late singer’s daughter Bobbi Kristina, mother Cissy, brother Gary, sister-in-law and manager Pat Houston, Pat’s daughter Rayah, and cousin Dionne Warwick.
Rob Sharenow, executive vice-president of programming at Lifetime—who will broadcast the show—stated, “The tragic loss of Whitney Houston left a void in the hearts of people all over the world, but certainly none more so than her beloved family.”
He added, “In this series, the multi-generational Houston family will bravely share their lives as they unite to heal, love, and grow together.”
Sharenow also mentioned that the program would air this year, and it will consist of 10 recorded episodes, though an exact air date is yet to be announced.
Whitney Houston passed away on February 11 at the age of 48, as she was found submerged and unconscious in a hotel bath in Beverly Hills. A coroner confirmed on March 22 that the cause of death was drowning, alongside heart disease and cocaine usage.
Recently, it was reported that Bobbi Kristina, the daughter of Houston and Bobby Brown, is eager to portray her late mother in a biopic. Friends have indicated that she believes she is the most suitable person to do her mother’s story justice amid claims that Rihanna has shown interest in the role.
