Hollywood star Nicolas Cage was behind bars after being arrested for domestic abuse.
The 47 year old was arrested when he reportedly dared cops to arrest him after arguing with his third wife Alice Kim.
Police were said to have been alerted to the alleged bust up in the early hours by a taxi driver.
Kim is not the complainant and she insists she was not touched by her husband. According to official records, Cage was held on suspicion of domestic abuse and disturbing the peace in New Orleans.
A mugshot showing him in a black T-shirt with his eyes shut was released with details of his arrest.
Cage, whose films have included Leaving Las Vegas, Con Air and Face Off, met ex-waitress Alice at a Korean night club in Los Angeles. They married in 2004 and had son Kal-El the following year. He was previously married to actress Patricia Arquette and daughter of Elvis Presley, Lisa Marie Presley.
It has also recently emerged that Cage is being chased by the tax-man over alleged unpaid bills of $500,000. Last year he was hit with a $15 million bill relating to unpaid taxes and fees for 2002 – 2004 and 2007.
