Neil Patrick Harris is the latest big name to sign up for A Million Ways To Die In The West, Seth MacFarlane’s follow-up to Ted.
The How I Met Your Mother star joins a stellar ensemble cast that already includes Liam Neeson, Charlize Theron, Amanda Seyfried, Sarah Silverman and Giovanni Ribisi. As well as starring in the comedy western film, MacFarlane will direct from a script he co-wrote with his Ted collaborators Alec Sulkin and Wellesley Wild.
MacFarlane will star as a cowardly chicken farmer who gets dumped by his girlfriend, played by Seyfried, and looks to Theron’s character, a mysterious new woman in town, to teach him courage. Neeson will appear as the newcomer’s outlaw husband, who turns up unexpectedly and tests the farmer’s new-found courage.
Universal Pictures has set the film to open in US cinemas on May 30, 2014.
