In the past Lindsay said she had only taken the drug 3 or 4 times.

“Are you an addict?” Oprah asks Lindsay in the interview which aired in the US last night to which she answers: “Yeah”.

“What is your drug of choice?” Oprah asks.

“Alcohol,” the actress who has just finisihed her sixth stint in rehab says, admitting it had led to other things in the past:

“That, in the past, was a gateway to other things for me… I tried cocaine with alcohol. But I really haven’t done it more than 10 to 15 times,” Lindsay admits.

“Of course, I said three or four. I was terrified of being judged… [But] I’ve done it 10 to 15 times.”

The 27-year-old then explains that her cocaine use went hand in hand with her drinking.

“[Cocaine] allowed me to drink more,” she tells Oprah. “I think that’s why I did it when I did it. It was a party thing.”

“Would you snort it? Inject it? Smoke it?” Oprah asks.

“Oh, my, no. I snorted it,” Lindsay says.

However, also in the highly anticipated interview Lindsay says how this is very much in the past, that she is ‘healing’ and trying her best to change her ways.

When asked what she thinks was different this time Linsday insisted that this time the change is for good.

“I just need to shut up and listen. In this case (in rehab) I wasn’t fighting at all,” she said, adding that it was clear that her idea of what works hasn’t in the past.

“I’ve just hit a wall,” she explained. “I’m just tired. When I spoke to Shawn Holley [Lindsay’s attorney], I just said, ‘I think the best option is to just go to treatment, to take care of myself, to find myself.’ I came into it really willing [the last time].”

The actress will now attend weekly therapy sessions over the next 15 months to comply with a court order for a reckless driving charges and has enlisted the help of a ‘sober coach’ to keep her from drinking.
