In her role as an actress, she dedicates her life to embodying various characters.
However, Kristen Stewart has disclosed that the act of portraying others can feel quite ‘strange.’
Providing a glimpse into the challenges that come with being an A-list actress, the Twilight star discussed the weight of her on-screen presence.
‘It’s a pretty fucking odd thing to want to pretend to be another person,’ she expressed during a recent interview.
‘And then you have a large audience watching you do that. There’s this experience of reading something, and if you don’t bring it to life, you’re essentially erasing it.
‘Every shooting day, you’re denying the world of experiencing that. The weight of that responsibility is incredible.’
Kristen spoke to the magazine to promote her upcoming movie, On The Road.
She shared her determination to be part of the film, expressing her joy at landing the role of teen bride Marylou.
Commenting on her character, she said, ‘Until you genuinely understand the woman behind the character, connecting the dots is challenging.
‘I’m a contemporary, sensitive, normal girl, and it’s tough to empathize with someone who appears to lack empathy.
‘In the book, she comes across as somewhat callous.’
‘She is literally the farthest from me… I’ve never met anyone whose nerves are so intensely exposed.’
