When Kelly Clarkson, the former American Idol winner, announced her engagement to her talent manager boyfriend Brandon Blackstock, it took her Twitter followers by surprise.
The 30-year-old singer of Since U Been Gone expressed her excitement by stating: “I’m engaged. I wanted y’all to know. I am so lucky and am with the greatest man ever.”
Having been in a relationship with 35-year-old Brandon, who is a father of two and the son of her manager Narvel Blackstock, Kelly has been dating him for nearly a year.
The couple lives together in a house they purchased in Nashville, and Brandon is also the stepson of country singer Reba McEntire.
Since her historic win on American Idol a decade ago, Kelly’s career has seen no slowdown.
Following her victory in 2002, she has released four full-length albums, including a ‘Greatest Hits – Chapter One’ LP that was released in November 2012.
While there is currently no set date for their wedding, Kelly has already shared a picture of her engagement ring on Twitter.
The chart-topping artist described it, saying: “It’s a yellow canary diamond with diamonds around it.
“Brandon designed it with Johnathon Arndt. They did an amazing job! I can’t wait to make Brandon’s ring with Johnathon as well!”
