After leaving a disco, Hollywood star Jean-Claude van Damme ended up driving into a canal.
In an attempt to display his strength, he tried to pull the partially-submerged vehicle out by himself.
Ultimately, the former kick-boxing champion conceded defeat and requested assistance from the nightclub’s security team.
At the age of 50, Van Damme drove away after accusing nearby witnesses of attempting to steal his phone and wallet.
The incident occurred when he mistakenly shifted the car into first gear rather than reverse.
A spokesperson for the disco in Willebroek, Belgium, commented: “He had consumed some alcohol, but he was not intoxicated.”
