With a fierce war of words, Stark’s grievance is clear: he seeks vengeance. He angrily destroys a journalist’s mobile phone before speeding away in his sleek sports car.
Addressing the Mandarin through the press, he declares: ‘I’m Tony Stark, and you don’t scare me.
‘You’re a coward, which is why I’ve determined you’re dead, buddy. I’m coming for the body.’
He continues, emphasizing, ‘There’s nothing political about this; it’s simply classic revenge. It’s just you and me, no Pentagon involved.’
In a bold move, Stark even discloses his home address to the supervillain, portrayed by Sir Ben Kingsley, before hopping into his white Audi R8.
This outburst follows the revelation that Pepper Potts, played by Gwyneth Paltrow, will don the iconic red and gold armor herself.
Portraying Potts, Gwyneth embodies the hero’s girlfriend, longtime companion, and personal assistant, but this time, it appears Tony is the one in need of rescue.
In the Marvel comics, Potts becomes the superhero ‘Rescue’ after sustaining injuries from a collapsing building, leading her to receive cybernetic enhancements to survive. This is the first time her character steps out from the office and into intense action.
The plot of Iron Man 3 revolves around Tony Stark’s life being shattered by a powerful terrorist known as the Mandarin.
