Hey single guys: Do you currently have a guitar in hand? If not, it seems you might be missing out on your Maximum Attractiveness Potential, based on findings from two recent studies.
A newly released study from France indicates that women show a greater interest in men carrying a guitar, which aligns with another study conducted in Israel last year.
Details of the French study:
The research aimed to test the hypothesis that music influences sexual selection.
In a street experiment, three hundred young women were approached by a male confederate who either held a guitar case, a sports bag, or nothing at all while requesting their phone numbers.
Findings revealed that the presence of a guitar case significantly increased the likelihood of women complying with the request, suggesting a connection between musical ability and sexual appeal.
Specifically, an incredibly brave 20-year-old actor was involved, introducing himself to 300 young women aged roughly 18 to 22, complimenting them by saying “I think you’re really pretty,” and asking for their phone numbers.
He carried a guitar case one-third of the time, a sports bag another third, and had no bag the final third.
When the guitar was in hand, about 31 percent of women shared their numbers, compared to only nine percent when he had the gym bag and 14 percent without any bag.
In the Israeli study, researchers created a Facebook profile featuring a man who sent friend requests to 100 single female students at Tel Aviv University and Ben Gurion University.
In half the instances, the profile showcased a typical guy without a guitar, while in the other half, it displayed a man playing guitar.
Only five of the 50 responses came from the guitar-less profile, while 14 out of 50 positively engaged with the guitar-carrying profile.
Note: It seems you don’t actually have to know how to play the guitar; merely carrying one might be enough to attract attention from the ladies.
