Dina Lohan, Lindsay Lohan’s mother, has accused her husband Michael Lohan of raping her on Valentine’s Day 1990 while he was under the influence of cocaine.
The former dancer and singer claims to have endured a series of domestic abuse incidents at the hands of her partner, stating that the assault occurred during a time of separation, with her young children, Lindsay and Michael Jr., asleep nearby.
Michael, aged 52, has strongly rejected these allegations, asserting that the sexual encounter in question was consensual.
This shocking revelation arises as Dina, 50, opens up about her turbulent 22-year marriage to the stockbroker.
Dina stated, ‘Michael was addicted to cocaine, a common issue among stockbrokers at the time. He had a lot of troubling behavior.’
She recounted how the alleged incident occurred at her parents’ residence, emphasizing that they were estranged, with Michael purportedly partying with models nightly.
At that point, Michael had recently served a 90-day jail sentence for a securities fraud indictment and had arrived in a limousine, allegedly pleading with Dina to reconcile.
‘He had just gotten out of jail and was on another cocaine-induced night. He declared, “I love you and want to be with you,” but things took a dark turn very quickly,’ she recounted.
At that moment, she claimed, Michael raped her while their children, Lindsay and Michael Jr., were asleep.
In the years following the incident, the couple welcomed two more children, Ali and Cody, before their divorce was finalized in 2007.
‘They were asleep, and I felt I had to remain silent—I didn’t want to wake them,’ she remembered.
There are reports that medical records indicate Dina sought hospital treatment and reported a rape. Though examined by medical professionals, she never pursued charges.
In response to the allegations, Michael confirmed that they engaged in sexual activity that evening but insisted it was consensual.
He claimed that Dina invited him to her parents’ home and initiated the encounter in a bedroom on the first floor.
Michael further stated that Dina only accused him of rape after she discovered he was with another woman during a phone call later that night.
‘I went to her parents’ house and made love to her,’ he explained to the publication.
‘When I left and got her call, she learned I was with another girlfriend and contacted the police. Then, she called me the next day, crying. I suggested, “Let’s work this out,” and I reconciled with Dina. No charges were filed.’
Dina has also shared images to substantiate her accounts of domestic violence.
She revealed two old photographs of herself with a black eye, holding Lindsay as a baby, in an effort to illustrate the years of physical abuse she allegedly suffered at Michael’s hands during the early years of their marriage.
The socialite released these distressing images to support her recent claims that her 26-year-old daughter is ‘so screwed up’ because of the chaotic relationship with her father and that Lindsay regularly witnessed violent domestic abuse as a child.
Dina remarked: ‘Lindsay observed her father abusing me—that’s why she’s so screwed up. She witnessed so much craziness.’
‘Michael beat me mercilessly,’ she described, referring to an alleged incident in 1986, which occurred four years before the purported rape.
‘I want the world to understand the origins of her struggles. Lindsay witnessed all the violence and abuse. She pleaded, “Stay, mommy, don’t leave.”‘
Dina decided to share her story after coming across an old photo depicting her with a black eye.
In a separate image, she is seen cradling baby Lindsay while still bearing the black eye.
‘When Lindsay viewed the photo, she was outraged,’ Dina recalled. ‘She urged, “Tell the world! Speak up!”‘
Conversely, Michael asserts that he never intentionally harmed Dina.
In response to the photographs showing Dina with a black eye, he stated, ‘Dina struck me with an ice tray, and I instinctively swung in response… I did not punch her.’
‘I never intended to harm her. My reaction was reflexive… she is distorting the truth.’
