It was revealed last night that Davy Jones, star of The Monkees, overlooked the warning signs of the heart attack that ultimately led to his death.
The pop icon from Britain brushed aside his chest pains, attributing them to indigestion.
At 66 years old, Davy passed away after falling ill close to his home in Florida last week. His daughter Talia, aged 43, shared that he had recently undergone medical tests. “Everything came back great,” she stated. “He was told that his heart resembled that of a 25-year-old. Therefore, when he experienced the pains, he assumed it was nothing more than a severe bout of heartburn. In reality, he required more comprehensive tests.”
Reports indicated that Davy’s funeral took place in Florida yesterday. However, his family opted for a private ceremony, and it was anticipated that his bandmates Micky Dolenz, Peter Tork, and Mike Nesmith would not be present.
He is survived by his third wife, TV presenter Jessica Pacheco, 34, and his four daughters. The Monkees were known for their U.S. television show during the 1960s, with hit songs such as “Daydream Believer.”
