Bubbles has been abandoned by the Jacksons

The famous chimp, Bubbles…the previous pet of Michael Jackson, has been reportedly ‘abandoned’ by Jackson’s family.

The animal is currently residing at an animal sanctuary in Florida where a spokesperson has said that the elderly chimpanzee has not received a visit from Jackson’s three children since he was moved there in 2005.

A spokesman said: “Michael’s sister La Toya paid a visit here about two years ago but that’s the only visit we have had from a member of the Jackson family.”

The animal was not taken care of in Jackson’s will and staff at the sanctuary now have to raise $25,000 a year to look after him. Michael Jackson died in 2009.

Bubbles was a former research animal adopted by Jackson in the early 1980s. He lived with the family in Los Angeles before moving to Jackson’s Neverland Ranch in 1988.

Bubbles relocated to Florida’s Center For Great Apes eight years ago after living with animal trainer Bob Dunn following the birth of Jackson’s son Prince Michael Jr in 2002.

Two of Michael Jackson’s three children will testify in the family’s $50 billion lawsuit against concert promoters AEG Live. The late singer’s children Prince, 16, and Paris, 14, are due to appear on the stand at Los Angeles County Superior Court in the trial, which began at the beginning of the month.

Jackson’s family are seeking £26 billion in damages against AEG Live, accusing the promoter of negligence which contributed to Jackson’s death.

The family claims AEG Live was neglectful when it hired doctor Conrad Murray, who gave the singer the overdose of sedative Propofol that lead to his death in 2009. Murray was jailed in 2011 after being convicted of involuntary manslaughter.
