While they may not have any children, Robert Pattinson and Kristen Stewartare the proud parents of a rescue dog named Bear, who has recently become the focus of a contentious custody battle.
Kristen, 22, also owns a cat named Max, which she plans to keep, whereas 26-year-old Robert wishes to have Bear – the mixed breed rescue they adopted from a high-kill shelter in New Orleans.
However, Kristen isn’t ready to part with Bear without a fight, as the California girl took care of the pup during his struggle with the life-threatening disease Parvo.She has also invested ample time with the dog and has taken him on trips across the country.
‘After Rob cleared out his belongings from their Los Angeles apartment, he notified Kristen that he wanted Bear,’ an insider revealed.
‘She was devastated – they adopted Bear together, and she always considered him their little baby.
‘But Rob, feeling deeply hurt by Kristen’s actions, decided he wants the dog to help him cope with what transpired. After all, dogs are known as man’s best friend, and Bear serves as a wonderful companion.
‘Nevertheless, Kristen is not going to willingly give up Bear. She assisted Rob in saving Bear from the Parvo disease that almost claimed his life when he was a puppy.
‘She is looking for joint custody – and things could get a bit complicated,’ the source disclosed.
The couple had plans to adopt another dog just before the news of Kristen’s affair broke, according to the source.
‘Robert and Kristen were exploring the option of adding another dog to their family. They were eager to find a playmate for Bear and were searching petfinder.com, along with several high-kill shelters in Los Angeles. But now, that seems off the table,’ the insider noted.
This weekend, a large U-Haul truck was seen leaving the driveway of their shared $6 million Los Feliz home,raising suspicions that Rob is moving out for good.
Following the release of photos showing Kristen getting cozy with Snow White and the Huntsman director Rupert Sanders, the pair are no longer on speaking terms and are living separately..
Now Rob desires a ‘man to man’ conversation with Sanders, who also betrayed the young actor, as they had developed a friendship and spent time together with the director’s actress wife, Liberty Ross.
