Dear Woosy – My boyfriend thinks I’m fat

Dear Woosy,

My boyfriend of several weeks has just broken up with me. He claims the reason is that I am too fat, but I know that can’t possibly be the case; I am the thinnest girl in my class. I believe his fear of commitment is the actual reason for our breakup.

Typically, girls dislike it when guys say, “It’s not you, it’s me.” In this situation, however, that’s exactly what he should have said because it’s true… it is him, not me. It truly offends me that he’s suggesting it’s me instead of being honest about his own issues.

I’m considering confronting him, but I’m worried he might spread rumors about me, claiming that I’m fatter than I appear. What should I do?

Woosy says – First and foremost, don’t stress about the rumors. I can assure you that people are already gossiping behind your back, so it’s really irrelevant. Secondly, if you feel that confronting him would help your peace of mind, go ahead. However, it probably won’t change anything for him.

I would suggest confronting him physically—if that’s something you could manage. You seem to outweigh him, so just jumping on top of him might be effective… just ensure you don’t seriously harm him.
